What counts as a billable event?
A billable event is any usage data point you send to bxb — an API call, a compute hour, a storage measurement, etc. With bxb (both self-hosted and managed), there are no per-event fees. You can process unlimited events regardless of your plan.
Can I start with Open Source and upgrade later?
Absolutely. Many customers start self-hosting bxb and later move to Managed when they want us to handle the infrastructure. We provide migration assistance to make the transition seamless — your data, configurations, and billing models transfer directly.
What happens if I exceed the team member limit?
On the Managed plan, additional team members can be added for $15/month each. Enterprise plans include unlimited team members at no extra cost.
Where is my data hosted?
On the Managed plan, you can choose between EU (Frankfurt) or US (Virginia) regions. Enterprise customers get dedicated infrastructure in their preferred region, including options for private cloud deployment.
Is there a free trial of the Managed plan?
We're currently onboarding early customers through our waitlist. Early access includes an extended trial period and personalized onboarding. Join the waitlist to secure your spot.
What's the difference between AGPL-3.0 and the commercial license?
AGPL-3.0 requires that modifications to bxb are also open-sourced. The commercial license (available on Enterprise) removes this requirement, allowing you to make proprietary modifications and deploy in private environments without open-source obligations.
